Municipal Election to be Held in the Municipal District of Peace No. 135
For immediate release:
September 24, 2025, the Municipal District of Peace No. 135 received two nominations each for Ward 1 & Ward 3. Consequently, an election will be necessary to determine the new Council for those Wards for the 2025–2029 term, in accordance with Alberta’s Local Authorities Election Act.
The following individuals have put their names forward:
Ward 1:
• Robert McCallum
• Sandra Eastman (incumbent)
Ward 3:
• Scott Knuttila
• Theresa Johnson (incumbent)
We hope to see a strong voter turnout from Wards 1 & 3.
Advance voting will be held at the Berwyn Elks Community Center, located at 4925 49 St, Berwyn, AB, on October 17, 2025, between 1:30 pm and 7:00 pm.
Election Day voting is scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2025, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at the Berwyn Elks Community Center, located at 4925 49 St, Berwyn, AB.

Ward 4:
• Ken Herlinveaux (ACCLAIMED)
Ward 5:
• Robert Willing (ACCLAIMED)
The elected Council will select the Reeve and Deputy Reeve at the Organizational Meeting on October 28, 2025, during which the Municipal District of Peace No. 135 Council will be officially sworn in.
