Temporary Road Bans
Effective April 10th at 12:00 P.M. all gravel roads in the MD will be restricted to 50% axle weight.
Road conditions will be monitored daily, and restrictions will be eased and/or lifted as soon as possible.
The MD would like to remind drivers that gravel road conditions are often better in the morning due to overnight freezing, but conditions worsen through the day as the temperature rises.
Please take care to drive safely during the changing conditions.
Normally, the MD does not place bans on its local gravel roads. However, if conditions should warrant a temporary ban, it will be posted on this site.
The Municipal District of Peace No. 135 currently has three roads that have permanent road bans:
RR233 South of McInnis Well House to TWP Road 834 is banned to vehicles one ton and over.
RR242 – Lac Cardinal South Access is banned to vehicles one ton and over (north from Highway 2 for 4 miles)
TWP834 – Lac Cardinal East Access is banned to 90% (west from Highway 2 for 3 miles)
RR231 – Mighty Peace Golf Course Road is banned to vehicles one ton and over (south from Highway 2 for 2 miles)
