Lac Cardinal Hall Rental

The Lac Cardinal Hall, built in 1949, is located in the Recreation Lease managed by the MD of Peace No. 135 on the eastern shore of Lac Cardinal. The Municipality rents the 60′ X 100′ hall for all types of functions, only from May to October, as it is not kept heated during the winter months. For wedding parties, funerals, or dining & dances, the maximum occupancy load is 250.

In 2015, a new kitchen measuring 24′ x 26′ was added to the north end of the hall. The kitchen is equipped with an upright cooler, a 6-burner commercial gas range with oven, three sinks, and two chest freezers (1 large & 1 small) and a microwave. In the late summer of 2025, the kitchen was supplied with: pots, pans, utensils, cups, dishes, some serving dishes, a 100-cup coffee urn, a 50-cup tea urn, trolley carts, and food totes. While there are no small appliances, there is ample counter space for caterers to prepare food, as well as plenty of cupboard storage. The kitchen can be rented independently if required.

The hall features attached bathrooms that are equipped with hot water. There is also a small stage located at the north end of the hall. In 2016, the hall underwent renovations, which included updates to the bar, storage areas, and the interior of the hall. In 2017, both the bathrooms and the front entry were renovated to make the entry wheelchair accessible. In the winter of 2025, the hall was renovated again; the entire floor in the main hall was removed, the ground was levelled to allow better airflow under the floor, and a new hardwood floor was installed.

Lac Cardinal Rental Rates & Other Important Information:

The rental rate for the hall, plus GST, must be paid to secure the booking. The rental rates are listed below.

A damage deposit is required before the keys are released.

Commercial Activity – Rental Rates:

Hall Rent (includes Hall, Kitchen & Bar)	$550.00/day, plus GST
Kitchen & Bar Area Only (no use of the main hall, only the kitchen & bar)	$125.00/day, plus GST
Grandstand / Infield / Race Track	$500.00/day, plus GST
Damage Deposit (for all Commercial rentals, paid the week of the rental)	Amount to be determined by Council per event

A damage deposit, amount determined by Council per event, is required before the keys are released. This can be paid in cash, by a separate cheque, or via credit card pre-authorization (an additional OptionPay fee is applied by the credit card company). The damage deposit will be returned after the hall has been cleaned and passes inspection according to MD caretakers' standards.

Personal Social Function – Rental Rates:

Weekend Rate (includes Hall, Kitchen & Bar)	$500.00/weekend, plus GST
Day Rate (24 hour period) (includes Hall, Kitchen & Bar)	$250.00/day, plus GST
Kitchen & Bar area ONLY (no use of the main hall)	$ 125.00/day, plus GST
Grandstand/Infield/Racetrack Rental	$250.00/day, plus GST
Damage Deposit (for all Personal Social rentals, paid the week of the rental)	$1,000.00/event, no GST

Youth Groups/Non Profit – Rental Rates:

Kitchen & Bar area ONLY (no use of the main hall, only the kitchen & bar)	$125.00/day. plus GST
Grandstand / Infield / Race Track	$100.00/day, plus GST
Damage Deposit (for all Youth Groups/Non-Profit rentals)	$1,000.00/event, no GST

PRIOR TO THE RELEASE OF KEYS - Items required:

Liability Insurance: Host Liquor Liability Insurance or Event Liability Insurance must be provided to the MD of Peace No. 135 office one week prior to the event. Information needed to obtain the Liability Insurance

Liquor License: A copy of your Liquor License must be provided to the MD of Peace No. 135 office one week prior to the event.
