The Lac Cardinal Hall, built in 1949, is located in the Recreation Lease managed by the M.D. of Peace on the eastern shore of Lac Cardinal. The Municipality rents the 60′ X 100′ hall for all types of functions, usually only from May to October, as it is not kept heated during the winter months. For wedding parties or dining & dances, the maximum occupancy load is 210. The Occupancy load is based on the table set up inside the stag rail. Tables cannot be set up outside the stag rail but chairs can.
The hall is very unique in that it has a railing all around the perimeter of the hall, with various stories told as to the original purpose of the railing.
A NEW 24′ x 26′ kitchen was added to the north end of the hall in 2015. It is equipped with an upright cooler, 6 burner commercial gas range with oven, 3 sinks, and a small chest freezer. Although there are no dishes or small appliances, there is plenty of counter space for caterers to work on for food preparation, as well as cupboards. The kitchen can be rented independently if needed.
The hall has attached bathrooms with hot water, and a small stage is located at one end of the hall. In 2016 the hall was further renovated by updating the bar, storage areas, and the interior of the hall itself. In 2017 the bathrooms were renovated as well as the front entry, which is now wheelchair accessible. There are 30 new 5-foot round tables, 250 stacking chairs with dollies, as well as a few rectangular folding tables for rental use.
The hall rental rate plus GST must be paid to secure the booking, rental rates are listed below.
The $500.00 damage deposit is required prior to releasing the keys in the form of cash, separate cheque, or credit card Pre-authorization (an additional $16.31 credit card fee will be applied by Option Pay), which will be returned after the hall is cleaned and the inspection is satisfactory to meet the MD standards.
