Roadside Brushing Program

The Municipal District (MD) would like to inform all residents about the upcoming Roadside Brushing Program, which is being implemented for several important reasons:

- To allow for the complete ditch mowing program and to manage noxious weeds.
- To ensure proper clearance of snow from the shoulder of roads during the winter.
- To prevent excessive snow drifting.
- To improve drainage and water flow during spring runoff.
- To help road surfaces dry more quickly as the snow melts in spring or after rainfall.
- To facilitate the safe travel of wide farm machinery on municipal roads.
- To enhance visibility at road intersections, thereby reducing the risk of accidents.

The MD's goal is to eventually remove all brush from the road ditches. If necessary, permission will be sought to remove trees from private property.

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the MD's road and ditch network. While the Municipality has its own equipment, it may also contract larger projects, such as major road reconstruction or significant culvert replacements.
