Upgrading your driveway, building an approach, or in need of backfill? The MD of Peace No. 135 offers the sale of gravel aggregates to residents living in the MD!
Types of Gravel Material:
- ¾” road crush, also referred to as 4-20 Road Surface Gravel, with a minimum 60% fracture provision. (Annual maximum of 200 tons per resident. See “Terms and Conditions” section below)
$12.00/tonne - Reject gravel – Crushed gravel that did not meet a 60% fracture provision. This material still contains lots of fractured rock but generally has more sand and fine material content.
$6.00/tonne - Pit Run – Unscreened, uncrushed mixture consisting of sand, clay, and rock of varying size.
$5.00/tonne
How To Purchase Gravel Tickets:
To purchase gravel tickets, residents must complete a Gravel Purchase Application and make payment at the MD of Peace Office in Berwyn. Please ensure the application is filled out and payment is submitted no later than 5 days in advance of a sales date to secure your ticket.
How to Redeem Gravel Tickets:
Residents can redeem gravel tickets between 9:00am and 3:30pm on the set days and at the locations specified below:
- June 17th, 2025
- Brownvale Pit located at SW-3-82-26 W5
- July 15th, 2025
- Grimshaw Pit located at SW-33-83-23 W5
- August 19th, 2025
- Brownvale Pit located at SW-3-82-26 W5
- September 16th, 2025
- Grimshaw Pit located at SW-33-83-23 W5
To collect gravel on each of the sale dates, please park at the gravel sales sign and stay in your vehicle until MD staff direct you to proceed.
Important Information:
- Gravel tickets are only valid for the specified date and location chosen on the application.
- The purchase price of any gravel ticket not redeemed during the sale date specified on the ticket will be refunded to the purchaser or transferred to a later sales date if available, and the ticket will be voided.
- Unredeemed gravel tickets must be returned to the MD of Peace office before December 31st of year it was purchased to receive a full refund.
- Please ensure any vehicle or equipment being used to haul gravel is in good condition and appropriately prepared. MD staff will not load pickup trucks, utility trailers, vehicles or equipment that may pose a safety risk or hazard to themselves or others.
- While in any MD gravel pit, please stay in your vehicle at all times except in a designated tarping zone.

Terms and Conditions
(In accordance with the MD of Peace “PW-12 Gravel Sales” Policy) PW-12 Gravel Sales
- The sale of 3/4” crushed road gravel is set at an annual maximum of 200 metric tons per resident to ensure that the MD is not competing with local gravel suppliers, and the MD retains an adequate quantity of road gravel for maintenance activities.
- The sale of ‘reject gravel’ and ‘pit run’ have no annual maximum quantity, while supplies last.
- A minimum purchase of 3 tons of any single material is required.
- Interested parties are required to purchase their gravel tickets no later than 5 days prior to the sales date they intend to pick up purchased materials. Individuals arriving at an MD gravel pit on a sales date without a purchased gravel ticket will not be loaded, and sales will not be made by MD staff in a pit.
- The purchase price of any gravel ticket(s) not redeemed on the specified sale date will be void. Tickets must be returned to the MD of Peace office before December 31st of the year purchased to receive a refund or be transferred to a different sale day, if available.
- The purchaser, or any party hauling aggregate on the purchaser’s behalf, is responsible for ensuring that their hauling equipment is engineered to be loaded by means of mechanical loading equipment, may legally transport loose aggregates, and is legally rated to haul the weight of the purchased quantity of material.
- The MD loader operator retains the right to, at their sole discretion, refuse to load any vehicle deemed unsuitable for loading or hauling, or for safety concerns.
- Pickup trucks and utility trailers will not be loaded.
- Engineered dump trailers will only be loaded with prior approval from the Director of Operations. Specifications, dimensions and a photo of the dump trailer must be provided to receive approval.
- Purchasers planning to have gravel picked up and hauled by another party must provide their gravel ticket to the party picking up material on the specified sale date.
- All members of the public must remain in their vehicles, follow posted signage, and obey instructions from MD staff. Any individuals not adhering to signage or MD staff will be required to exit the site and may not be permitted to enter MD-owned gravel pit sites in the future.
- Vehicles must leave the loading area upon receipt of material and move to a designated area for tarping and preparing their load for transport or exit the gravel pit.
- Gravel will only be loaded with MD equipment operated by an MD employee. Privately owned equipment and hand loading of materials is not permitted.
