A Strategic Plan is a guiding document that sets out the preferred future of a municipality. In this way, it establishes a framework that aligns the municipality’s operations. From a practical perspective, a strong Strategic Plan can enhance a municipality's effectiveness, efficiency, and decision-making.
Council has adopted a Strategic Plan for 2025-2027, intended to be a living document which will be reviewed annually to ensure it continues to capture the priorities of Council. The Strategic Plan identifies the six main pillars (priorities) of Council:
- Advocacy & Engagement
- Organizational Capacity
- Agricultural Diversity and Sustainability
- Asset Management
- Economic Development
- Recreation and Leisure
Within each of these key themes, Council has identified goals. Administration has developed strategies and tactics to guide day-to-day tasks in a focused way to achieve the future Council desires.
