The MD of Peace No. 135 sends out assessment notices to each landowner within the MD in February of each year. The assessment notice is not a tax invoice, rather it simply communicates the assessed value that will be used to calculate the property tax levy for each property (once the tax rate bylaw is approved by Council).
In April of each year Council will pass the yearly Tax Rate Bylaw which establishes the taxation rates that will be levied on each assessment class (residential, non-residential and farmland). Once the tax rate bylaw is passed, Administration will prepare tax notices for each property within the MD. These tax notices are then mailed (or emailed) to property owners in the first week of May, and are due by June 30th. All tax accounts not paid by June 30th will be subject to penalties as per bylaw No. 10/2025.
The MD does offer landowners the option to make monthly payments on their taxes through our Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP). For more information refer to our Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP) page at the top of this page.
