Highway 685 is closed between the intersections of range road 244 and 245. The closure is a result of failing road structure near the bridge between these intersections. La Prairie has set up a detour to divert traffic North/South on range roads 244 and 245, and East/West on Township 830.
The detour is approximately 5 miles long. Drivers should take into account the extra time it may take to travel in the area for the foreseeable future. The gravel roads being used for the detour do not have dust control applied at this time, so airborne dust from increased traffic may negatively impact driving conditions. The MD and La Prairie will monitor conditions on the detour route, and a temporary speed limit reduction will be applied to the detour route if necessary.
