WHY AND WHEN YOU NEED ONE

Development permits are required for new projects, changes in use or additions to existing structures or when starting a business, including home based businesses. Development permits address community planning, bylaws, land use, image and compatibility issues. The development permit process is based on the Municipal Government Act and the Land Use Bylaw.

Development Permit Fines 
Failing to obtain a development permit will result in a fine of 2 times the maximum permit fee.
$200.00 for Residential
$400.00 for Non-Residential
