Environmental Stewardship and Climate Change (ES&CC) Producer Program Funding List – Categories A to E
Grant funding cost share of 30%-50% of eligible expenses to complete the project
The Environmental Stewardship and Climate Change Producer Program supports active producers and commercial manure applicators with assessing their environmental risks and implementing beneficial management practices (BMP’s) that reduce the risk of agricultural contaminants entering water or soil resources, benefit their business, enhance public trust and reduce the impacts of climate change.
The 2018-2023 program-funding maximum is $100,000 over the program term, except in the following limited circumstances:
1. You may be eligible for an additional $100,000 under Category D: Innovative Solutions;
2. For Category B projects you may be eligible for an additional $100,000, over the program term, for each operation owned by an applicant with a unique/different premise ID.
Please note: Due to the merit based review process, cost shares levels will vary based on the Minister’s discretion. Cost shares will range from 30% to 50%. The minimum cost share you may receive towards your approved project will be 30% if your project is approved. Your application may be reviewed either on a merit first-come first-serve basis, or by a technical review panel, if additional technical expertise is required. The minimum payment an Applicant may receive under the program is $500.

Rural Acreage Owner Herbicide Weed Control Program
The MD of Peace No. 135 Agricultural Service Board Rural Acreage Owner Weed Control Program was developed to assist acreage owners with the challenging task of performing weed control on a maximum area of two (2) acres/year. Herbicide applications will be conducted as time permits, with the knowledge that priority is always given to the municipal road right of way program. The herbicide application cost will be $200/hour.


The Efficient Grain Dryer Program covers specific energy efficient components of grain dryers, not the dryer as a whole.

The On-Farm Efficiency Program (2024-2028) aims to support the adoption of innovative technology that optimizes farm efficiency, minimizes agricultural waste, advances the digitalization of an operation, and/or gathers information that will help the producer knowledgeably enhance their operation.
Grants will be funded at a cost-share rate of 50% and paid in on lump sum reimbursement after item(s) are determined to be eligible and approved.
Funding Maximum per Applicant is $150,000 over the duration of the Program (2024-2028). Funding minimum per application is $500.
